We are excited to share with you our fourth release: a reissue - and first time ever on vinyl - of four excerpts from “Mortal - Deco”, previously released on CD only in 1997.
This record was conceived when UK band Code decided to take an alternative approach to their more traditional band oriented one, finding ways to make non-musical sounds musical and to let the more melodic ideas develop in non-formulaic ways. So their anagram record “Code was born under the “Mortal” alias. The result in a mixture of ambient textures, trippy slowed down techno, breakbeat patterns, glacial dub with strong influences from what back then was labelled as chill-out, maintaining a certain 90s UK distinctive flavor with strong DIY feelings.
